Worthing u3a

Outings & Events

The Worthing u3a Committee want to hear your ideas for Outings and Events!

In the past we have arranged:

Social events, like a Murder Mystery Afternoon, which took place at St. Mary's Church Hall, Goring By Sea
Outings to various places of interest, like coach trips to Chartwell House & Quebec House

But!

To arrange any event needs volunteers, such as an 'Events Organiser' and/or a 'Day Trip Organiser'. These do not have to be Committee posts just someone with enthusiasm and drive (and time).

Please contact the Committee if you would like to volunteer.

Title Ukulele for Beginners Pop-up course Location : Heene community centre
Date : 20th January 2027
Discover and learn to play the Ukulele

Do you regret never learning to play an instrument? Do you want to keep up with your grandchildren? You can learn to play the ukulele from zero in just a few lessons - it’s taught in many schools today in preference to the recorder.

Forget George Formby – just Google “ukulele version of (‘Any well-known song’)” to see what it can do. Groups like our own u3a Ukulele Playing Group are singing and strumming chord accompaniment to popular songs all over the country. Songs from the 20’s to today, players all with a big grin!

This course is perfect for any u3a member looking to get started. It will add a new dimension to your life. You don’t need to read music; graduated practice songs will be supplied weekly, plus tailored course notes.

Learn how to hold, tune and play your ukulele, plus a few easy chords - you’ll soon be up and running - all for a one-time, up-front cost of just £30.

Our “Ukulele Beginner’s Learning Course” starts on Wednesday 20th January for 6 consecutive, weekly sessions from 11:00 until 12noon, at Heene Road Community Centre, BN11 4PL.

Don’t delay! Sign in to the Worthing u3a website for further details and apply to join today. You’ll find it within the “Groups” List.
