What do you know about your grandparents or other family? Where did they live, what occupation did they have and how many cousins could you have. Where is that distant cousin. Did they emigrate or perhaps their family could even live locally. Or perhaps you want to go further back in time and find even more about your own past history to share with family.
If you have an enquiring mind and happy to use the computer and internet, then this may be a hobby you could find engaging and, dare I say, addictive. You will need to have access to a laptop, or willing to use public computers such as the local library, and depending on the nature of your research, a subscription could be required at some stage.
This group is to help you get started and, by supporting one another, share your journey.
As I already run the Family History and Social Exploration Group, I will be acting as Team Leader and using my home as the venue as well as sharing resources to get you started.
